Is Joydate free?

Joining and browsing Joydate cost nothing. With a free Classic profile you also receive daily match suggestions and can comment on profiles and send a few messages a day; for unlimited messaging you upgrade to VIP or VIP Plus. How Joydate works compares the three levels.

How much does Joydate cost?

Joydate VIP and VIP Plus cost different amounts depending on your currency and on how long you sign up for, from one week to twelve months, and the longer plans work out cheaper per week. All prices, in six currencies, are on the pricing page.

What is the difference between VIP and VIP Plus?

The difference between VIP and VIP Plus is visibility: VIP unlocks unlimited messaging, filters and seeing who likes you, while VIP Plus also puts you at the top of the daily match suggestions, shows your messages and likes first and unlocks exclusive matches.

Who can join Joydate?

Anyone aged 18 or over can join Joydate, or 21 in Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska and Wyoming, where Joydate's terms set a higher age. Men, women, couples and LGBTQ+ members are all welcome.

Messaging and profiles

Can you send messages on a free Joydate profile?

You can send a few messages a day on a free Joydate profile, and once you are verified you can join group chat rooms; VIP is what makes messaging unlimited. A free profile also lets you browse, receive match suggestions and comment on profiles, which shows you who is around first.

What do other members see about you?

Other Joydate members see your username, your photos and the town or city nearest to you. They never see your real name, your email address or your exact location.

Why do you see members from other sites?

Joydate and its partner sites draw on one shared pool of members, so profiles from the partner sites appear on Joydate and yours appears there too.

Are there fake profiles on Joydate?

Profiles that are not what they seem can turn up on Joydate: Joydate's terms reserve the right to run staff profiles for testing, and scammers target every dating site. How do you get verified on Joydate?

You get verified on Joydate with the free ID check, which adds a badge to your profile; a live video check with a moderator is another way to show you are real. Verification is optional and costs nothing on every plan.

Billing and cancelling

Does Joydate renew automatically?

Yes, every Joydate plan shorter than 12 months renews automatically at the same price until you cancel. Only the 12-month plan is a single payment and does not renew.

How do you cancel Joydate?

You cancel Joydate by contacting the support team or the chatbot, then following the link in the email you receive. Your paid features last until the end of the period you paid for. Details are on the cancellation and billing page.

Can you get a refund from Joydate?

As a rule Joydate does not refund purchases or give credit for unused time, though local law can override that. The cancellation and billing page lists where different rules apply.

How do you delete your Joydate profile?

You delete your Joydate profile by following the instructions on your Membership page. Cancelling a subscription alone does not delete the profile.

Safety

Is Joydate safe?

Joydate is safe to use with a few habits, and the site does its part: your profile shows only your town, the free ID check lets you prove you are real, and blocking or reporting someone takes one step from their profile. Meet somewhere busy the first time and never send money to someone you met online.

Where do you report a dating scam?

Report a dating scam to Joydate by reporting the profile, and to the official scam-reporting or police service in your country. The safety page lists them for Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

Can you use Joydate on your phone?

Joydate works on iPhone and Android through the phone's browser, and a home-screen shortcut makes it feel like an app.
